Introduction | I am a high school English teacher, and mother of two charming little ones of my own. I teach in a high poverty urban charter school, while I live in a typical American suburb that has frequently been rated one of the safest cities in the country. It is a paradox I struggle with constantly, but it is my life. |
Interests | I love music. I love going to concerts, especially at smaller clubs. I love working with teenagers; they are some of the most amazing, dynamic, people I know. Other things I love include going dancing, going out to eat late at night, hanging out at the beach, cooking, shopping (even when I don't have money, and even just like target or whatever).I super love traveling. I want to go all over the world. I like making photo collages, reading, writing, Romania, swimming, Disneyland, and strawberries. |
Favorite Movies | Hair, Rent, Cold Mountain, Evita, Pirates of the Carribean, The Little Mermaid, Forrest Gump, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory |
Favorite Music | David Crowder Band, Blindside, Paul Simon, Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Marley. Elton John, Queen, Green Day, Matisyahu, Nada Surf, European dance music, Chris Tomlin, 311, occasionally system of a down, and generally just a lot of 70s rock. I also just love anything that I can sing along with my council at the top of our lungs (I'm not really into Britney Spears, but she generally works pretty well for this.) |
Favorite Books | I love reading and could name many, many, books I love, but here are a few off the top of my head: Go Ask Alice, Snow Falling on Cedars, Let Your Life Speak, Dangerous Wonder, Catcher in the Rye, A Prayer for Owen Meany, Anne Rice books, Tennessee Williams plays, and of course, The Bible. |
If you could peer far enough into the night sky, you'd see a star in any direction you looked. When would you sleep?
Sleep? I know not such a word. Papers and Lesson plans sure, but sleep, no. ;-)
