| Introduction | I've been a high school English teacher since I began as a 23-year graduate at Hawkesbury District High School in Ontario, Canada in September 1966 (interrupted for a time when I tried business - and lost). I returned to teaching in Korea where I taught teachers, nuclear engineers, oil company executives (Wow! Did I ever learn a lot about the oil business during the four years I did this!), engineering students and spent two years teaching at one of the top three private high schools in Korea - the second year as head of the English Conversation Department. At the end of 2008, Korea decided I was too old to be of any further use so I moved to Taiwan where I am once again teaching high school. I had considered applying for a teaching job in North Korea and may still do that in the future... except I know I'd hate the winter there. I absolutely detest winter and life in the tropics suits me just fine. Reading, film, theater, intelligent conversation are the things I enjoy most. |
