IntroductionGreening Chinnor are a non-profit voluntary organisation working with the community to improve environmental and economic sustainability of Chinnor. We work with the parish councils, other organisations and volunteers to develop and deliver information, advice and project initiatives to “green” our communities and improve economic resilience. We create enjoyable, sociable volunteering opportunities to get involved in the community. The group have worked to support the village and local environment since 2011. During this time have organised and carried out bi-annual village litter picks, cleared the White’s Field hedge and replanted it with many wildlife friendly indigenous species, carried out Portable Appliance Testing on electrical equipment at local swap shops ensuring electrical equipment can continue to be donated and thus be given a new lease of life, Thermal Imaging Surveys on local household and public buildings to assist householders to see heat leaking from their home and take the necessary action, WW1 memorial tree planting in the villages of Chinnor and Henton, Seed & Plant Swap to encourage people to try and grow plants and vegetables.
