| Introduction | When I was a child, there were a few different ways I imagined my adult life to be. One, modelled on Jo March, involved eating apples in an attic room and writing books. In another, I was to be an artist, full of intense, wild passion which leapt off my brush and onto canvases. I was going to be Gauguin, living on islands where the trees were red and purple. A third scenario had me climbing mountains, drinking tea on top of the Himalayas. It didn't exactly happen that way, but recently I rediscovered drawing and writing and it nurtured in me a sense of awe and wonder at the beauty in the ordinary stuff of the world. That, and various other odd things, is what I hope to share here. |
