Introduction I am an expatriate in every sense of the word. It's in my blood, inherited from extraordinary American parents who spent their lives exploring the world. By the time I was ten I had lived in Venezuela (twice), Chile, Turkey, New York, Italy and Puerto Rico. I'd spent a year in a Swiss boarding school and another year being home schooled. After graduating from Duke and Vanderbilt Law School, where I served as the first female Editor-in-Chief of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, I became an international corporate attorney travelling to and working throughout Asia, Latin America and Europe. Of course. In 2010 I left the practice of law and now devote my time to writing, editing, wildlife conservation, and other interests. Every aspect of my life has been and undoubtedly always be informed by my international upbringing and search for home---a central theme of my upcoming memoir.
