| Introduction | I am a NC attorney who has handled animal cases for more than 20 years. Recently I have noticed an alarming increase in animal control raids on rescue groups and individual rescuers in different parts of the state. In tracking these cases we have found that most of them turned out very badly (especially for the animals), often because the rescuers involved simply did not know their constitutional rights and how to assert them. This blog is a series of posts with guidelines on dealing with animal control. This is general information that has to be applied thoughtfully to specific situations.
