| Introduction | My name is Pim van Oostveen I’m 19 years old, I’m living in Holland in a village called Wormerveer. I’m studying wooden construction crafts in Amsterdam. I will blog about Wood crafting. I was always interested in wood and crafts, My father is very technical and does many things by himself so I don’t have it from a stranger. I started with Wood crafting when I was 15 years old, on my high school rough carpentry after 1 year I had the choice rough carpentry or furniture making I choose furniture making. After that year you go to a university like school (not on university degree)but in my case for wood crafting here I had 2 basic years of real furniture making where I learned a lot of fine wood crafting and my imagination about wood went crazy. But than I had to make a specialism and i was loving a the local wood building and that is very traditional so I choose the restoration. Now I just ending my first year and I had 1 practical period by a local wooden building restaurateur and that was amazing and now I’m in the middle of my last practical period of the year at a Wind Mill builder and that’s the greatest job/craft. |
