Introduction Bazz was born in 1956 and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, his family having been part of the out migration of Southern mountaineers after WWII. Instead of attending West Point, a path his father adamantly opposed after the death of his uncle while serving in Vietnam with the unit made famous in the film, We Were Soldiers, Childress moved back home to Kentucky in 1975 to attend UK. There he obtained a Business Administration Degree from the UK with “minors” in Classical literature through that school’s Honors Program and Southern literature and military history.   So instead of the American military, Bazz ended up in the United States’ military’s financing arm [the banking industry] and began a career that would span from 1981 to 2009. Childress is a “recovering Republican”, Cmdr of the Kentucky Division Sons of Confederate Veterans, Chairman of the Bluegrass Chapter of the League of the South delegate to and serving as a delegate from Kentucky to of the Southern National Congress.
