| Introduction | I grew up in New Orleans, a city that has an indigenous food culture. I did some professional cooking, first at the Yellow Brick Bank in Shepherdstown, WV and then at a B&B, where I prepared prix fixe 7-course meals. I wrote a food column for local papers for 10 years, and then for the Washington Blade and its sibling papers. |
