| Introduction | I'm a very privileged grandmother of seven awesome grandchildren on three different continents. That has meant that during the last 12 years I've been travelling round the world visiting each family and taking part in their everyday life. In between times I've been in Finland living with my partner. Professionally I've been a teacher and have been teaching in Finland for the last 15 years before retiring. The most rewarding have been the last ten years of teaching, first the Romas and then refugees. My blog will be bilingual, in Finnish and in English. Every day feels so full of meaning and sometimes worry, too. Suomessa olevat ystäväni tietävätkin historiani; opettajana, tutkijana, Pohjois-Suomen Romanit Ry:n projektissa ja viimeiset vuodet maahanmuuttajien opettajana. Ja nuo viimeiset 12 vuotta maapalloa kiertävänä nyt seitsemän ihanan lapsenlapsen mummuna! Jokainen päivä on niin tärkeä! |
