| Introduction | I have to say, My dear mother did a darn good job single-handedly raising us kids. After high school, I was launched on a stellar academic path at Chico State, where I endured grueling courses like badminton, volleyball and well...I can't really remember right now. I ran track and cross country, earning All-Conference honors 3 times. 25 years ago, at age 25, I ran the Boston Marathon in 2:29:21, edging out the 1st woman by 12 seconds! My mom inspires me by her dedication to fitness, life long learning and giving back to the community in which she has lived for 50 years (she is much older than me). She teaches reading to kids at the elemantary school I attended. Kids must be much dumber these days - nobody helped ME! My kids are virtually grown - 21, 21, 20. Yep, 3 in 14 months, 150 diapers a week at our peak. Now, it is time to create and live the life I imagined. |
