| Introduction | I'm an organization junkie. Throughout my working life, in advertising/PR, many of my clients have been not-for-profits, governed by volunteer boards. And my primary "recreation" has been serving in voluntary organizations, usually on their boards, and often as an officer, including numerous presidencies. In this blog, I expect to discuss my experiences on both sides of the not-for-profit desk. In general, I won't name names, but any readers who've been there-done that with me are likely to be able to recognize the situations and the players. Or, as the Hebrew saying goes (and much of my volunteer experience has been in Jewish organizations), Hamayveen yaveen -- the one with understanding will understand. |
