| Introduction | I'm a translator (English, French and Portuguese into Spanish) working for the Organization of American States, a regional organization of the Western Hemisphere. Before my present job, I worked as managing editor of Americas Magazine (published by the OAS) and then as chief editor of the OAS Department of Press. I have a B.A. in Legal Translation from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and an M.A. in Translation and Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, Calif. So, in essence, I've been leading a double life as a translator and editor (which I love and don't expect to give up any time soon). Besides that, my husband Juan and I have two children (Sofía, 3, and Tomás, 1, and are expecting a third one for December (hopefully right after I complete my degree!) In the picture, Sofía is Minnie Mouse, Tomás is a crocodile, and I was trying to be Pocahontas. That was last Halloween. |
