| Introduction | A good old friend of mine recently told me that "if everyone else is here, you're there". So I guess I'm somewhat of a rebel. Social and cultural. Social, since I have always rejected most social trends. Cultural - for 2 reasons: 1. Living in multiple has broadened my horizon and taught me that none is better than another. 2. Cultures change slowly and haven't kept up with the rapidly changing world in the past century. Hence I adopt the parts I agree with most. So why am I telling you all this? Because this has led me to be - a vagabond. In addition to the question-marks about my professional future, I've had my quarrels with life in the developed world in recent years. So last semester (Fall '09) I quit my PhD program, and am now heading to Central America, in search of adventure, and maybe also a better understanding what I want my life to be about. This blog is to keep those that are interested up to date on my journey. |
