| Introduction | I am an educator. I taught at public schools in Cape Town under the WCED for more than 37 years, of which 17 years I served as a school principal. I am also the manager of the At-Tayyibah, School of Arabic & Quran Studies. I am passionate about learning different languages, especially Arabic. Currently I speak English, Afrikaans and Arabic fluently. I also understand Dutch and German when I read books or watch movies in these languages. Furthermore, I have an understanding of isiXhosa as well as a few other languages. I teach Arabic & Quran Studies at a variety of institutions and online, via the videos I produce, (see: https://youtube.com/@at-tayyibahschoolofarabic5785). I also write Arabic learning materials and books for those who want to learn the language or understand Al-Quran. I am computer literate. I've used these skills to successfully produce many blog posts about my various interests, as well as more than 10 books. Furthermore, I use a variety of Video Editing as well as Audio Editing Programmes to produce the video and audio lessons. Over the years I have been blogging about my Arabic classes as well as my other interests. |
| Interests | My interests are very vast: I love nature, walking/ jogging along the beach, exercise which includes cycling and martial arts. I also love visual art, sketching/ drawing. I also love photography, specifically to capture images in nature, including birds. I keep and breed beautiful, colourful stencil pigeons which I photograph frequently. I create videos, mainly of an educational nature (Arabic Lessons) or of my pigeons. | Favorite books | I read mainly Islamic literature as well as books about other religions. Alternatively I read books/ magazines to learn various skills, including computer skills and learning a variety of programmes and apps. |
