Introduction Assalam u alaikum (Peace be upon you)!
I was born a Muslim in Pakistan though have been living in the West for over 18+ years. I wear the hijab (headscarf to cover hair and neck)—been wearing it since undergrad, alhmdulillah (all praise belongs to Allah), and dress modestly as a personal choice NOT because I was forced or I am oppressed. I am an “Everyday Muslimah (a.k.a. Everyday Muslim Woman)” I’ve been educated through the American school system—InshahAllah (God willingly) will continue because learning is a lifelong pursuit, I’ve worked in professional settings, I love to shop (makeup, clothes, accessories, shoe’s and handbag’s are my weakness), hang out with friends (non-Muslim and Muslim), enjoy gastronomical pursuits, enjoy Cirque du Soleil, Opera and Broadway shows, enjoy reading books/articles on many subjects—concentrating on mostly on Islam, and even listen to music (all types) and watch movies every now and then—but my life does not revolve around it. Please feel free to email me --I love to hear from my readers & get feedback or any inquiries, but please no hate mail. JazzakAllah!
