| Introduction | Seçil Yersel is a producer of narratives since 1997. With a background in sociology (BA) and fine arts (MA), her work centers on photography, often accompanied by sound, text, and montage. Through walking, writing, collecting, and assembling, she explores fleeting yet powerful moments and the spatial conditions of the “now.” Her focus is on in-between spaces, memory, belonging, relationality, and embodied knowledge. Her works are shared through exhibitions, publications, and performative encounters. Alongside her individual practice, Yersel is one of the co-founders of the artist collective Oda Projesi, established in 2000 together with Özge Açıkkol and Güneş Savaş. Oda Projesi originated in Istanbul and focuses on relationships by activating spaces and people within the changing city. Since 1994, Yersel has also been writing as a form of documenting and witnessing — tracing the everyday life of cities, their inhabitants, and the forms of production they generate. Her texts appear in various books, collaborative projects and magazines. |
