Occupation | Future linguist, hopefully. |
Location | Chicago, Illinois, United States |
Introduction | Quirky. Quixotic. Quiet. Queer. Questioning. Qualified. Quick-tempered. And, frankly, quite tired of trying to think of witty things to say in online bios. The basics: I'm a recent linguistics graduate who is now attempting to find someone--anyone-- who cares about that sort of thing. I'm a big geek and somewhat prone to overblown intellectual wonkery. I'm overly fond of martinis and dressing up in silly costumes, not necessarily (but usually) at the same time. I'm an Aquarius and have been known to enjoy long walks on the beach. One day I will grow up to be Dorothy Parker. |
Interests | Words that begin with q, coffee strong enough to float a spoon in, obscure languages, swing-dancing, modern art, classical music, overly artistic eyeliner, spending whole days reading, late-night walks by myself, France and the French, England and the English, piracy, kitsch, boys in makeup, girls in combat boots, libraries, Pablo Neruda, traveling. |
Favorite Movies | Generally, the movies I like are low-budget, artsy, political, or foreign, but anything with Anthony Hopkins is fine by me. |
Favorite Music | My top five bands for the time being are the Magnetic Fields, the Decemberists, Ani Difranco, Tom Waits, and They Might Be Giants |
Favorite Books | Any. All. More. Please. |
Do you believe that forks are evolved from spoons?
The spork is a clear evolutionary link between them.
