| Introduction | I learned to be creative with wood as a child. My father provided lots of opportunities for me and my siblings to discover our talents and mine was woodworking. I studied the joinery of window sashes. I spent a lot of time at my local hardware store and found customers coming in with rotted windows. The hardware store would put an angle iron brace on the corner and return the windows. I talked to the owner and said I could replicate the previous Ogee profile with new wood and give the customer a better product. So, he hired me to do that. I turned my basement into a shop and started making custom historic window repairs and replacements. I have expanded to new and bigger shops four times. I have loved making historic windows and doors and still enjoy my work. There is a saying that if you find a job you love, you will never work a day in your life. I am happy to say that my work has been a pleasure and I feel that way. |
