Introduction Born in Japan, Gohei Nishikawa began studying piano late at fifteen. A graduate of the Osaka College of Music in piano performance, he moved to his career base to the US in 1999. Starting his NY debut in 2000, Mr Nishikawa has performed at Lincoln center's Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall, and Steinway Hall. Shortly after his move to the US, Mr Nishikawa started to battle Dystonia, a muscle movement disorder, which affected his hands. At one point, he completely lost the ability to play. Through many rehabilitation sessions, he has recovered to play with his right hand and the 2 working fingers on his left hand. In 2008, he made his return debut at Bradshaw & Buono International Music Festival in Italy. In 2009, he won 4th prize at an international piano competition in Vancouver. He currently holds a position at JHC Foundation Inc/the Greenwich International Conservatory of Music.
