Introduction	I grew up in Brooklyn, New York. My mother was a fabulous cook, and food was simply a way of life as I grew up. Every day, we walked to an open-air market to shop for fresh food. That's where I began my love of cooking. Through teaching mathematics in public schools, I developed a love of sharing my knowledge with others. Soon, I began teaching adult-ed classes in bread baking and Asian cuisine at Englewood, New Jersey. Continuing to teach, I furthered my love of cooking by opening a specialty cookware store and cooking school in Rockville, MD. I was a founding member of the "Les Dames D'Escoffier" DC chapter, an organization of cooking professionals that includes top chefs such as Julia Child. My husband Sam and I travel all around the world, visiting traditional open-air and central markets and learning about various cuisines. From Italy, France, and Spain to India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand, I've traveled the world to pursue my passion for cooking. Now, I bring my knowledge and experience to small group classes that I teach in my own kitchen in the Dupont Circle area of DC.
