| Introduction | My own genealogy journey has been one of discovery about family members I never knew well. As I'm sure everyone had dealt with, some generations were easier to work on than others, others proved to be more challenging - those are always the more interesting. I was not raised with either side of my family and did not live with either side until my mid teens. I have found that having not known them provided me an objectivity that might otherwise be lacking. It also leaves me with few, if any, stories for any of the immediate generations. Their lives were before me as blank sheets of paper waiting to be filled. |
