Introduction I am a transplanted Midwesterner who has become a devout New Yorker. I am a wife, mother, grandmother who also had a career as a teacher in the NYC public schools and Brooklyn College. I am interested in local and natinal politics and seriously concerned about the increasing gulf between the rich and poor in our country. My writing group, Quill and Coffee, is truly one of the blessings of my life.
Interests Reading, Writing, Politics, Italy, Japan, my children and grandchildren.
Favorite Music Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Sarah Vaughn, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Mozart, Beethoven (Piano Sonatas)
Favorite Books The Tale of Genji, The Things they Carried, A Fine Balance, The Kite Runner, This Boys Life, White Teeth, A Member of the Wedding

Given the increasing numbers (and growing) of computers currently in American homes, will this increase the numbers of young people reading serious fiction?
