I have been engaging in the pressed plant art for some years and member of the World Wide Pressed Flower Guild (WWPFG)since 2006. Pressed plant art is an art of creating pictures from pressed flowers, leaves and other various parts of plants by attaching them with glue onto a base. This art had appeared in Japan more than 600 years ago. "Oshibana" is Japanese name for it although oshibana art differs a little from the technique that I prefer. Oshibana is a kind of Zen Buddhism art and intends chiefly the use of ready nature forms. And I like to use tiny pieces of pressed plants as the paints putting them like the touches of the brush. So my pictures look like the artworks of fine art. Of course, making a picture is far more laborious process than usual painting and takes sometimes about two months. However to work at nature materials is particular pleasure for me. They have such pleasant scent; they cure and fill up with vital power. They becalm and help to digress from daily problems.
