About me

Location United Kingdom
Introduction I’ve been shooting since I was 16. My interest at the time was theatrical. I worked backstage at school and local theatres, which provided the ideal opportunity to shoot during rehearsals and performances from some unusual angles behind the scenes. My target was to get some of my images displayed front of house and I had a number of successes. At this time, I was shooting with an OM1 and a couple of lenses. I had a darkroom at home in the attic and completed a City and Guilds B&W development course to grow my skills further. I have been able to travel widely, accompanied by the camera, and this travel photography formed the basis of my hobby for a number of years. The highlight of this period was joining a development charity to live in Ghana for two years at a rural hospital . I bought my first digital camera in 2005. It’s an Olympus C5050 and I still get a lot of pleasure from using it. For some time, this focused on Landscape and macro natural history photography. For a time, I had some of my images for sale in local tearooms and galleries, with some success. I was shortlisted for the Warwickshire Life magazine annual competition in 2008 and won several other local events.
