IntroductionI am a sprinter, so I am...um...rather, used to be...quick and powerful for all of about 10 seconds, and then I turn into a "turtle," slogging along the trails and hoping not to get trampled over. I also have osteoarthritis that limits what used to be my strength--running/hiking downhill--but, hey, I now appreciate the uphills! My tenacity and competitive nature have enabled me to "survive" and complete the Big Sur International Marathon twice along with several other various distance road/trail running and cycling events, as well as to scramble climb to the top of several mountain peaks. My husband and I have done several bicycle tours, both supported and self-contained, including riding across the country, Seattle to Washington, DC in 48 days in 2006. I chose "turtle" over "tortoise" because I hope, someday, to be able to swim without drowning and maybe, just maybe, do a triathlon. Join me as I pursue, photograph, and record my life adventures.
