Gender Male
Occupation Retired
Location Roseburg, OR, United States
Introduction Started out with a Masters degree in Fisheries (U.of Washington), first worked as a biologist for the Corps of Engineers, then as a water chemist for almost a decade before going to Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon to study Computer Information Systems (CIS). After earning my AAS degree, I shared a CIS instructor position with my wife Susan at UCC until we both retired in 2009. We had used the restroom in every state capitol (The Capitol P) and visited 56 countries by 2019. Susan & I especially enjoyed cooking and entertaining at home. I built a wood fired oven in 2009 and became fascinated baking bread and meals with it. As my retirement project, I love baking bread and giving out 15-20 fresh loaves to our friends and neighbors on Saturday mornings. Susan died of cancer on May 5th, 2019, two days short of her 69th birthday. We were married for almost 48 perfect years, always together, always best friends, and always in love. She was constantly my teacher in how to enjoy life and always an inspiration to everyone she graced with her smile.
