| Introduction | Acting Up is a club that involves social justice as well as drama. It’s all about trying to raise awareness and funds for social justice. By incorporating drama and theater as a tool to spread awareness, we hope to educate people on different types of injustices around the world and then show how we can put an end to it. We are abolitionists for those who are bound in slavery and the voices of those who are silenced. Our purpose is to create alertness about what has been happening around the world for decades to many innocent people. Our purpose is to help raise money for organizations that go on location to help, prevent, rescue, and restore. Not only are we a club, but we also have extended to a community service group of about 15 students and two faculty at school through our school's Community Interactive Program. We go to a home/school for x-street kids (ages 8 and up) here in Campinas, Brazil. It's our way of getting involved locally and trying to make an impact on those around us. |
