| Introduction | I am a wanderer-at-heart. My tryst with travel started in 1996 with a family trip to my mother’s native, the paradise on earth – Kashmir. The excitement of exploring a new place and culture was too profound to be put into words. Since then every summer vacation I used to dream of going to another holiday destination. But studies and financial constraints didn’t allow the luxury of more such trips. It was only when I moved to Bangalore for my first job in 2007 that I could quench my thirst for travel. And soon weekend getaways to popular destinations gave way to exploring the road less travelled. Romancing sun and sand on a 3 day beach trek in Uttara Kannada, staying up all the night in a tree house and waiting for a tiger sighting, cycling trip to Nilgiris, and many more such memories that I will cherish for a lifetime, brought a realization that I enjoy holiday planning as much as holiday itself. Endless Google searches, hundreds of mails, phone calls, discussions, print-outs of routes and ultimately appreciation from friends and colleagues whose trip I helped plan made it apparent to me that holiday designing was my true calling. |
