Introduction Santanam Swaminathan was born in Kilvalur near Nagappattinam in Tamil Nadu in 1948. He is married with two children. He is working as a part time tutor at the University of London and a part time Health Advocate in a London hospital. He hails from a journalist family. His father Santanam was the News Editor of Dinamani in Madurai.
Interests Swaminathan, following that tradition, has been in the field of mass media for more than three decades. He has two master degrees to his credit (M.A. in History and M.A. in Literature). He has worked as a Senior Sub Editor in ‘Dinamani’, Madurai, a broadcaster (In the BBC World Service, London) and a writer/contributor to magazines. He is very much interested in Tamil and Sanskrit literature and linguistics. He is doing research in old Tamil coins. He has written more than 40 research papers. ‘Number in Tamil Literature’, ‘Colour in Tamil Literature’ and ‘Translation problems in Tamil Newspapers’ were submitted at the World Tamil Conferences. He has authored three Tamil books. His e book containing research papers on Tamil Literature is available through nilacharal.com. He has raised more than £200, 000 to seven charities in London. He has acted in three Tamil dramas to raise funds for the charities. Currently he holds posts in several charities. His life time ambition is to rewrite the Indian history with the successful decipherment of Indus script.
Favorite Movies He is the secretary of London Sath Sangham, a registered charity, secretary of three other organisations known as Tamil Heritage Foundation, Tamil Global Arts and World Hindu Mahasangam. He was the chairman of South Indian Society till recently.
