| Introduction | I was born a sinner (Romans 5:12, 1 Corinthians 15:22), blaspheming God by seeking my own glory (Romans 3:11-19, 23). However, the Holy Spirit has drawn me to saving faith in Jesus Christ (John 6:63, 1 Corinthians 12:3). He empowers me to trust that Christ's atoning sacrfice has fully satisfied God's demand for justice regarding my sin (Romans 3:24-25, Hebrews 2:17, 1 John 2:2, 4:10). God predestined me (Romans 8:29-30, Ephesians 1:4-5, 11) to receive His free gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23), not based on ANY good in me (Psalm 14:1-3, Psalm 53:1-3, Romans 3:11-12, 7:18) but solely by His grace (Acts 15:11, Romans 3:24, Ephesians 2:5, 8) and for His glory (Isaiah 43:7). God's grace has led me to repentance from dead works, and will sustain my saving faith (John 10:28) throughout my life on Earth, the intermediate state, and on new Earth (Revelation 21:1). Though I struggle daily against the powerful, enticing, fleshly lusts which wage war against my soul (1 Peter 2:11), yet God's showering grace sanctifies me so that I might love, cherish, desire and treasure Him and lead others to enjoy Him. You can whistle and steam can whistle, so why do you sing in the shower?
Because whistling would limit me from praising God through the words He leads me to sing.
