Introduction I am a weaver, dyer, and kumist who creates functional art including fine wearables and accessories for the home. I learned to weave twenty five years ago, and in the last ten years added dyeing, surface design, and kumihimo to my repertoire of fiber skills. My work with kumihimo, a Japanese braiding technique, led me to Japan several years ago where I also became interested in Japanese katazome and shibori dyeing. Today, I weave and dye silk, wool, and cotton scarves and create other wearables from my fabrics. I also make hand dyed and woven bookmarks, placemats, napkins, towels, and table runners.
