| Introduction | I am from a small town in the central area of China. After finishing my B.S. and Master's degrees in computer science in China, I worked as a lecturer in Wuhan University and also as a project manager in a local software company. Five years later, with the dream of being a millionaire left behind, I moved to Alberta, Canada, for a Ph.D. (some call it Permanent Head Damage). My brain still looked fine when I graduated in 2002. Since then I have been in a much warmer place, Victoria. I teach and research in the Computer Science Department, University of Victoria. (What is computer science? You tell me). I am the father of a smart boy and the husband of my high-school classmate. |
