Introduction | Stacie's interest in art evolved quietly over time, as she became more interested in the process of creating--and in the tools and materials--than in the results. Stacie enjoys creating shadow boxes, paper crafts, jewelry making, painting, and ceramics. Stacie's major inspiration for her art is being broke. "I see things I like but could never afford to buy so I'm inspired to try to recreate or reinvent them. I create art for therapy. It is easy to let go of troubles when you are busy deciding what color or texture to use or how you will create wings for this and what object will complete that shadow box. By solving design problems, I gain a sense of control, sanity, and empowerment. There are no rules when I create, no deadlines, no one to be pleased. My art is primarily for my happiness, but it's always gratifying when it pleases others, too." Stacie hopes to make more time to play with her art supply stash instead of getting distracted by housework, exercise, and chasing Monsieur Fluffybutt the Pomeranian. |
