Introduction Hi, my name is Wasima. Tiffin boxes are Indian stacked, stainless steel lunch boxes with lids. To me they are metaphors for life’s compartments. Most people call me a ‘foodie’. Culturally, my family is from Bengal, which is made up of the Indian state of West Bengal and Bangladesh (former East Bengal). The consistent trait in Bengali people is they love food and talk about it all the time. Conversations often begin with asking if you ate and what did you eat? My mother is my cooking inspiration. I ask her how to make dishes, which she recites from memory. As an honor to her imaginative, delicious cooking, I intend to test and document her recipes, and also share beautifully prepared food outside the home kitchen. At my house there is often some type of renovation/decorating/gardening project. I also reconstruct clothing and jewelry to transform them to my unique style, photographing the projects along the way. Travel is another fortunate part of my lifestyle. In this forum I’d like to share great finds or inspirations, as I find time to indulge in these creative outlets. I’d like to unpack my tiffin box with you and exchange some ideas.
