| Introduction | I am a single mother of twin boys. They're nearing five years old and have suddenly... okay not so suddenly... decided they need to have complete and utter control over what they eat. Which means nothing beyond candy, chips, pizza, chicken nuggets and french fries. As an advocate for healthy eating, I'm struggling with how I'm teetering on the edge of the slippery slope of laziness, allowing my children to choose unhealthy foods because it's easy. This is a problem...my problem...our problem. This is why we are an obese nation. No one cooks, no one cares, we all choose easy over good.My goal is to document dinner time...my kids will have the choice to eat what I make for dinner or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich...This could get awfully boring, right? |
