Introduction | Frederick Buechner once wrote, “The grace of God means something like: Here is your life. You might never have been, but you are because the party wouldn't have been complete without you.” I'm a 40-something husband and father who is trying to figure out my place at the party and learning all I can along the way about religion, education, politics, and anything else that comes up on the journey. |
Interests | Spending time with my two little girls and wife, visiting with friends, studying religion and theology, reading, golf, watching television. |
Favorite movies | Godfather triology, Star Wars sextology, Patton, just about any Anthony Hopkins movie, old Charlton Heston and Gregory Peck movies, Sunset Boulevard -- and on and on and on. |
Favorite music | Classical (primarily organ), jazz, big band, swing, oldies. |
Favorite books | A difficult question, since I love to read so much: C.S. Lewis, Sheldon Vanauken, Barbara Brown Taylor, Frederick Buechner, William Stringfellow, just about any book on Biblical or theological history, Jack Higgins, Yukio Mishima, Truman Capote, William Faulkner, (some) Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, works on the Founding Fathers/Revolutionary/Colonial history |
That can't really be a fish you're standing on, can it?
It could be, but I don't look down at my feet often enough to find out.
