| Introduction | It was the smell of onions frying and the intoxicating aroma of it’s caramelization that stole my young heart as I stood wooden spoon in hand under the watchful gaze of my mother, father or grandfather’s cooking. Those wonderful, sweet onions would hours later yield a delicious burgundy red pot of sauce, that would soon be devoured by me and my family. And so my love affair with everything food began. After culinary school, a few stints at restaurants and then as a Private Chef and caterer I now find myself walking the streets of Barcelona, popping in and out of markets and weaving through the glorious smells of sweet, plump peaches resting in a storefront and the salty goodness of embutidos hanging in a window.
