| Introduction | I was born into a family of musicians and entertainers in Nashville TN. I can't sing a lick- can't even hum- was tossed out of ballet for drop kicking my sister over the bar (that would be my Broadway dancer sister)and was delighted when my guitar teacher died unexpectedly and I no longer had to take lessons (sorry Mom). As a result I took up football and decided to become a scientist- and I never looked back. I currently develop diagnostic tests for cervical cancer, specifically for women in developing countries without access to medical care in collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. On November 1, 2008 my life changed on a beautiful fall day when I met my future husband, Gary, for pancakes. I am looking forward to our adventure, and a lot more pancakes. |
