Introduction	Isabelita Solamo, J.D. is Director of PILIPINA Legal Resources Center. She sat in the National Anti-Poverty Commission, Office of the President of the Philippines as Council member for Women. She held leadership positions in Ph civil society as Director: CODE- NGO, MINCODE & PHILSSA. She chaired the women’s political party Abanse!Pinay, Davao Chapter. She first went to study law at the Ateneo de Manila School of Law & later earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at Ateneo de Davao. She took Graduate Studies in Sociology, University of the Philippines, Diliman. She taught at the Philippine Normal University in Manila & at the Ateneo de Davao University. She finished a course on Gender and Development (Women, Men &Development) at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex,England, & the Course on Sexuality, Culture & Society at the University of Amsterdam. As part of her work, she has visited Europe (Belgium, England, France, Germany, The Netherlands), the Americas (Brazil, Canada, Mexico, USA), Asia (India, Nepal,Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia) & Middle East (Turkey).
