| Introduction | Supreme Understanding is a community activist, educator, author and entrepreneur. Supreme received his bachelor’s degree in world history from Morehouse College, followed by a master’s degree in urban education from Georgia State University. At 26, he received his doctorate in education from Argosy University, where he focused his research on the benefits of non-formal education with at-risk students and disadvantaged populations. Supreme Understanding’s work has brought him to Ghana, Mexico, India, Japan, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, England, the Caribbean, and dozens of cities throughout the United States. The author’s travels have provided him in-depth opportunities to learn about the struggles of oppressed people throughout the world, and their similarities with the struggles of people of color in the US. Supreme’s work continues as CEO of Supreme Design Publishing, an independent press offering a variety of books focused on overcoming the odds of oppression and disadvantage. |
