| Introduction | I had an arts-and-crafts upbringing in Pasadena, California. My grandmother, Ruth, taught me how to sew when I was twelve years old and I soon began making and designing clothes. My first job at age 16 was in a fabric store. A career in another field intervened, but I am now returning to my love of sewing and quilting. |
