Introduction I was one of the pioneers of underwater archaeology & have found hundred of shipwrecks including pirate ships & Spanish galleons. Because of the wealth some ships carried, I have also come to be known as a treasure hunter. But the reality is I am after history, not just gold or silver. The treasures are simply part of the job. My most important finds are now in museums. Although I’ve discovered numerous historically significant shipwrecks including the the “Hunley,” which was the first submarine in history to sink an enemy ship, I consider my identification of Charleston shipping & banking magnate George Alfred Trenholm as the real Rhett Butler to have been my most interesting discovery. In 1995, at the official request of the South Carolina Hunley Commission, I donated my rights to the wreck to the State. The wreck was worth over $20,000,000. It has since been raised.

You get to ride the big roller coaster three times in a row. What will keep your dad from taking a bite out of your candy apple?

Dropping it on the floor of the coaster amid the puke and dirt. It would keep me from wanting it too.
