| Introduction | Well it's been 10 years of brewing and 7 years working for Northern Brewer. My appreciation of beer began early growing up within whiff of Miller Valley (read: Milwaukee) and before legal drinking age (sorry Mom and Dad) I had begun to explore craft beer (the term microbrews was used back then). In college I began to homebrew. Graduating with a degree in Forestry I landed a job with the Forest Service in Bend, Oregon. During that time I visited many breweries and brew pubs (much to my unimpressed and under 21 girlfriend) up and down the west coast. Moving back to the Twin Cities so my girlfriend could finish school led me to work for the MN DNR for a short stint where not satisfied with my position I left to work for Northern Brewer. I have also worked part-time at various local beer shops Big Top Liquors and 1st Grand Avenue Liquors. The latter job allowed me beer at cost (awesome) and we would sample every new beer that came in (more awesome). I had the pleasure of starting my own beer festival called the St Paul Summer Beer Fest. A super rewarding experience, the first year brought more than 2000 people and 52 breweries, making it Saint Paul's largest craft beer festival. |
