| Introduction | A silent warrior of principled advocacies, Nicky Guinto serves as an Instructor of English in Southern Luzon State University in the Philippines. With his strong desire to be an instrument of change, he braves 12 hours of bus ride twice a week to and from Manila to become a better man and teacher in his attempt to earn an MA degree in English Studies from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. He is a copyright holder of two modules in College English, a regional speaker of journalistic and literary writing, and a teacher trainer of English in the SLSU System. He spends his free time by instigating intellectual debates with his colleagues and augmenting several possibilities to minimize, if not eradicate, mediocrity in his community.
