Introduction A competitive weightlifter since the end of 2012 and a CrossFit coach since 2007. I've been on the scene a while. Before that, well... I have degrees in Fine Arts, History, and Biotechnology. I've trained in the martial arts since the age of 8, earning multiple black belts in karate and judo and instructed martial arts since 1994 and, at around that same time, began running kickboxing and core-strength classes. I lived in Japan for over 6 years, one as a college student and more than 5 as an English teacher. I also lived in Hawaii and worked on the cruise boats as a translator. Currently, I work full time as a chemist developing processes for large scale drug production, DJ on weekends and coach motorcycle riders in the summer. I love movement, exercise, and coaching. I love seeing people learn and grow. I loved teaching. I love coaching even more. I also love CrossFit. I find CrossFit similar to martial arts in the need for virtuosity of movements first. I find the workouts safer, more effective, and more efficient than any training I’ve ever seen. My only regret with CrossFit is that I didn’t find it sooner.
