| Introduction | My name is Emily MacKenzie and I'm a freelance illustrator and graphic designer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2004 with a BA Hons in Visual communication (graphic design) I spent 7 years at Mainstream Publishing (Edinburgh) designing book covers. In 2011 I left Mainstream to pursue freelance projects both in design and illustration and also to form a collaborative partnership called INK CIRCUS with my friend and fellow designer Lizzie Cameron. Working mainly with ink, digital collage and screen printing, my illustrative work draws from childhood memories, my inquisitive nature, and vivid imagination. As well as drawing, I love knitting and generally get very excited about anything bright and colourful! |
