IntroductionEducated as a poet by the ivoriest of the ivory towers that would admit me, I have been somewhat waylaid on my path to a Pulitzer by my teaching career and my children. Geez, the need to earn money to feed myself and those little punks is severely cramping my style. But I still carry a notebook in my purse so that I can compulsively pluck the shining fruit that sprouts unbidden in my brain. Because I'm so brilliant. Like just today, my friend fell down at a restaurant called Bumble. And I noticed that it rhymes with stumble. See? Just think what the world might have lost had I not had my notebook with me. Someday, those notes I took will turn into a poem. And the lone and level sands will stretch far away. Look on my works, ye mighty, and DESPAIR! My therapist says delusions of grandeur are a symptom of mania. Or I could be really talented. Like, fer realz. We'll have to see how I feel once I am titrated up on my meds.
