| Introduction | Hi, I'm Mrs. Struggle. I started this blog as an outlet for the stress of trying to manage a family on a middle-class income, as an accountability tool, and to (hopefully) call attention to the plight of the middle class in America. Since this blog is totally anonymous, I plan to post actual income and expenses from my family's day-to-day spending. Feel free to compare your own figures and make suggestions or observations as you see fit. While my family is lucky to have an income at the high end of today’s median family-income range, it is exasperating to me that we constantly seem to bump up against financial roadblocks in our struggle to get ahead. I feel we’re quite prudent with our money and take care to avoid extravagances. This is not a new lifestyle for us, as we have always been cautious with money. We did, however, hope to be much more financially secure by this stage of our lives. I invite you to follow me and my family as we struggle to pay off debt, save money and invest for future goals, and cling to the same aspirations of other middle class Americans. |
