| Introduction | LIFESTYLE: Living on a small, green island near the Canadian border floating off of Washington State. ACTIVITIES: Hiking, cartooning, exploring, writing and playing every chance I get. PROFESSION: Working full-time for a rural fire department as a firefighter, EMT, PIO and Public Safety & Education Officer FAMILY: Beautiful grown daughter; my life partner and husband; lots of extended family from the Pacific Northwest to the swamps of Florida FRIENDS: An amazing collection of souls PASSION: History and WIldland Firefighting I have lived on this island for over half of my life. As a kid, I had wanted to be a pioneer somewhere, like my ancestors. And I was granted that wish (be careful what you wish for) when I left the big city to try a modern day homestead adventure. I have had countless adventures, close-calls, witnessed magic and tragedies plus have unbelievable good fortune. |
